Ostoja Ińska

Ostoja Ińska is a major bird protection area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of northern Poland. Designated as a Special Protection Area under the European Union Birds Directive, it was established to safeguard breeding populations of birds of European conservation concern and to keep their habitats in favorable condition. The area covers the entire Iński Landscape Park and most of its surrounding buffer zone, encompassing a broad postglacial landscape of moraine ridges, low-lying basins, lakes, bogs, small water bodies, farmland, and forest. The varied terrain supports a rich avifauna, with more than 140 bird species recorded as breeding within the site, including large raptors, marshland specialists, and woodland birds. Ostoja Ińska is a foundational component of the regional Natura 2000 network in the Pomeranian lake region, complementing nearby protected areas and contributing to the long-term survival of many species that depend on the mosaic of wetlands, lakes, and forests created by the last glaciation.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
