Rezerwat przyrody Jezioro Wielkie

Rezerwat przyrody Jezioro Wielkie is a faunistic nature reserve in the Lubusz Voivodeship of western Poland, in the Międzyrzecz County within the Trzciel commune. The reserve protects a relatively shallow post-glacial lake and its surrounding forested landscape, which together form one of the more important waterbird sites in the region. The reserve was established by order of the Minister of Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry on 9 October 1991, and it covers approximately 236 hectares. It is managed under active protection and is intended primarily to preserve breeding biotopes and feeding and resting sites for waterbirds, giving the area strong scientific and educational value. The lake itself is heavily eutrophied and shallow, with an average depth of about 2.5 metres, and it is fringed almost entirely by forest. It hosts three small islands, surrounded by reeds, sedge meadows, and hilly terrain drained by the Obra River, creating a mosaic of habitats that support roughly 120 bird species, including a significant share of nationally threatened taxa.

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
