Vrásový soubor v Klokočůvku

Vrásový soubor v Klokočůvku is a small protected natural monument in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, recognized primarily for its geological value rather than its scenic breadth. The site preserves a natural exposure of folded sedimentary rocks belonging to the Hradec-Kyjovice formation of the Moravian-Silesian Culm, a Carboniferous succession associated with the Variscan orogeny. The defining feature of the monument is the so-called Dračí skála, or Dragon Rock, named after a small cave at its base that local legend associates with a dragon. The exposed rocks display a striking range of fold geometries, including upright, inclined, overturned, recumbent, and plunging folds, making the site a textbook example of structural geology visible at outcrop scale. Although the protected area covers only about 1.25 hectares, it holds considerable scientific and educational importance for geologists, students, and visitors interested in the tectonic history of the eastern Bohemian Massif. The site's modest footprint contrasts with the depth of geological story it contains.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
