Barlinecko-Gorzowski Landscape Park

Barlinecko-Gorzowski Park Krajobrazowy was a protected landscape area in northwestern Poland that existed until 2021, when it was divided into two successor parks. It straddled the border between West Pomeranian Voivodeship and Lubusz Voivodeship, covering roughly 239 square kilometers of the much larger Puszcza Barlinecka (also called Puszcza Gorzowska), one of the great lowland forest complexes of the region. The landscape park was established to safeguard a representative portion of the Puszcza, which is built on a glacial outwash plain formed by meltwater around 12,000 years ago. Forests dominated the protected area, covering about 81% of its surface, while numerous postglacial lakes and meltwater channels shaped the rest of the scenery. At the beginning of 2021, the park was split into the Gorzowski Landscape Park in Lubusz Voivodeship and the Barlinecki Landscape Park in West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Ecologically, the park sheltered valuable mixed and coniferous woodland, peatland and bog communities, and a rich mosaic of lake, marsh, and stream habitats. Its flora, fauna, and lake-rich scenery made it an important component of Poland's network of landscape parks in the northwestern lake districts.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
