Dolina Eliaszówki Nature Reserve

Dolina Eliaszówki Nature Reserve is a landscape-type nature reserve situated in the western part of the Małopolskie Voivodeship in southern Poland. It lies within the Krzeszowice municipality in the Kraków County and occupies the lower, limestone-built segment of the Eliaszówka Valley, a typical feature of the Olkusz Upland, which itself forms part of the broader Kraków-Częstochowa Upland (Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska). The reserve is embedded in the Dolinki Krakowskie Landscape Park and overlapped by two Natura 2000 habitat sites, Czerna and Dolinki Jurajskie, reflecting its recognized importance for regional biodiversity and conservation. Its core value lies in the mosaic of old-growth forest communities, including oak-hornbeam grąd, Carpathian beech forest, thermophilic beech forest, and an alder-ash floodplain forest along the Krzeszówka stream. The valley is shaped by karst processes, supporting limestone outcrops, several caves and rock shelters, and a network of springs.
