Dylewo Nature Reserve

Dylewo Nature Reserve is a small protected forest area in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of northern Poland, within the rural commune of Ostróda. It lies on the eastern slopes of Dylewska Góra, the highest hill in the Wzgórza Dylewskie (Dylewskie Hills) landscape park, in the broader Chełmińsko-Dobrzyńskie Lakeland region. The reserve was established in 1970 to protect a stand of approximately 115-year-old Pomeranian beech forest, one of the characteristic and ecologically valuable forest types of this part of northern Poland. Although the reserve covers only about 10 hectares, it preserves a relatively mature beech-dominated woodland with associated tree species and a notably rare fern population. The area is managed by the Olsztynek Forest District and forms part of the wider protected landscape of the Wzgórza Dylewskie, a landscape park that safeguards the rolling morainic hills of the region. Dylewo is valued primarily for its forest character and its contribution to conserving native deciduous woodland in a landscape otherwise shaped by glacial and postglacial topography.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
