Miłachowo Nature Reserve

Miłachowo Nature Reserve is a small steppe-type protected area in northern Poland, situated in the Pomeranian Voivodeship within the Człuchów County and the gmina of Debrzno. It lies on the slope of the valley of the Debrzynka River, roughly one kilometer west of the town of Debrzno, in the Krajeńskie Lakeland mesoregion. The reserve was established to conserve xerothermic swards and shrub communities along with thermophilic plants occurring at the northern edge of their natural distribution. Although the protected site itself is only about 3.84 hectares in area, it carries disproportionate biogeographical significance because it shelters dry-grassland habitats that are far more typical of the steppes and warm slopes of southeastern Europe. Active protection measures are applied to maintain and restore this xerothermic ecosystem along with its associated flora and fauna population. The surrounding buffer zone extends the management context to about 34.53 hectares.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
