Mount Remarkable National Park

Mount Remarkable National Park is a protected area in South Australia, Australia, located approximately 238 kilometres north of Adelaide in the southern Flinders Ranges. The park encompasses rugged mountain terrain centred on Mount Remarkable, which rises to 960 metres and serves as the park's highest peak. The park is notable for its unique position at the ecological crossroads of arid and temperate Australian environments, creating a biodiversity hotspot where species from eastern and western Australia meet. Originally established as national pleasure resorts in 1952, the park was formally proclaimed under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 and has grown substantially over the decades through land additions. The park consists of two non-contiguous blocks: a main block near the town of Melrose and a smaller Telowie Block near Port Germein.
