Wupperaue bei Westenbrücke

Wupperaue bei Westenbrücke is a small nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet) in the town of Hückeswagen, within the Oberbergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It protects roughly a 2.3 kilometer stretch of the Wupper river floodplain, running from the locality of Hartkopsbever in the north to the Hämmern industrial area in the south, with the Bundesstraße 237 forming much of its western edge. The reserve is centered on a narrow, intensively used grassland valley in which patches of species-rich meadow, wet meadow, small alder and willow stands, hedges, and planted fallow areas alternate with the river corridor. Officially designated in 2013 under the identifier GM-094 and classified as an IUCN Category IV Habitat/Species Management Area, the site is valued primarily as a connected network of small habitats around a largely continuous stretch of the Wupper, offering both ecological diversity and clear potential for upgrading the surrounding agricultural meadows.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
