Dębina Nature Reserve

Dębina is a small forest nature reserve located in the Lubuskie Voivodeship in western Poland, within the Gorzów County and the administrative area of Gmina Kłodawa. The reserve protects a compact fragment of Central European oak-hornbeam woodland, known in Polish as grąd, a habitat type once widespread across the lowlands of Central Europe but now reduced to scattered, often degraded remnants. Because of its ecological and educational significance, Dębina is one of several small forest reserves that together help preserve the character of the Równina Gorzowska plain and the broader woodland heritage of the region. The reserve is dominated by pedunculate oak, with beech, hornbeam, small-leaved linden, and Scots pine contributing to a mixed, multi-layered canopy. Beneath these trees grow characteristic woodland understory plants, including bulbous coralroot and Hepatica nobilis, which indicate the presence of an intact, old-growth-style deciduous forest community rather than a replanted plantation. Although it covers only a modest area, Dębina carries meaningful conservation value as a reference site for Central European oak-hornbeam forests, supporting both scientific study and environmental education. The reserve is managed under active protection, meaning that targeted management interventions are used to maintain or restore the woodland's natural structure and species composition.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
