Diabelskie Pustacie Nature Reserve

Diabelskie Pustacie Nature Reserve is a large floristic and landscape protected area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in north-western Poland, within the Szczecinecki Lake District mesoregion. Covering roughly 932 hectares near the village of Kłomino, south-east of Borne Sulinowo, it protects the core of the Kłomińskie Heathlands, widely regarded as the largest inland heath complex in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. The reserve was established in 2008 on terrain that was historically used as a military training ground, and its open sandr plains remain unusually exposed and free of dense forest. The protected landscape combines outwash sand plains belonging to two glacial sandr systems, meltwater depressions, and residual erosional hills, creating a distinctive mosaic of dry heaths, wet hollows, and glacial landforms. As part of the Natura 2000 Diabelskie Pustacie PLH320048 habitat site and managed under an active protection plan, the reserve is significant both for the scale of its heathland habitat and for its position within a broader network of protected lowland landscapes in the southern Baltic region.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
