Dudhwa National Park

Dudhwa National Park is a protected area in the Terai belt of marshy grasslands in northern Uttar Pradesh, India. The park spans approximately 490 square kilometers of alluvial plain terrain within the Upper Gangetic plains, representing one of the finest remaining examples of Terai ecosystem in the region. Established initially as a wildlife sanctuary in 1958 specifically for the protection of swamp deer, the area was designated a national park in 1977 and later became part of a larger tiger reserve in 1987 alongside Kishanpur and Katarniaghat wildlife sanctuaries.
