Levera National Park

Levera National Park is a protected coastal area on the northern tip of Grenada in the parish of Saint Patrick. Centered on the Levera Pond and its surrounding mangrove and bushland wetland, the park preserves a significant Ramsar-recognized ecosystem that links sandy beaches, brackish lagoons, dry scrub woodland, and a cluster of small offshore islands. The area extends along the coast between Grenada Bay and Irvins Bay, with Bathway Beach and Levera Beach forming part of its shoreline. Beyond the wetland, the park opens northward toward Bedford Point and offers views across the channel to Sugarloaf, Green Island, Sandy Island, and Bird Island, which together support seabird colonies and reef habitat. Levera's importance lies in the rare combination of Caribbean wetland ecosystems and offshore bird islands within a single protected landscape. Designated as a Ramsar site and recognized as a key node on the Caribbean Birding Trail, the park remains one of the most ecologically distinctive corners of Grenada, despite ongoing pressures from coastal development.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
