Nahanni National Park Reserve

Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978, Nahanni was the first natural site in the world to receive this recognition, honoured for its outstanding universal value including wilderness character, extensive river systems, and geological significance. The park spans over 30,000 square kilometres and remains in reserve status pending resolution of outstanding Aboriginal land claims in the region.
