Centered on the Salten Å river valley and the expansive waters of Mossø and Salten Langsø, this protected area represents one of the most significant freshwater networks in Denmark. The territory includes diverse habitat types ranging from calcareous fens and rare raised bogs to sandy dry heaths and Atlantic beech woodlands, creating a vital ecological corridor within the Central Denmark Region.
