Bagno Pulwy

Bagno Pulwy is a wide, open wetland area in northern Mazowsze, in east-central Poland. It occupies roughly 60 square kilometers of meadows, pastures, marshes, and residual peatland between the forested Puszcza Biała to the south and the Narew river valley to the north. The southern portion of the area consists of extensive treeless hay meadows that are still actively mown, while the northern portion forms a mosaic of meadows, pastures, cultivated fields, regenerating peat cuts, willow thickets, and small pine woods. The area is crossed by a dense network of drainage channels that ultimately feed the Narew, and its southern edge is bordered by the historical Rząśnik Droga, a road following the embankment of an old peat-haul railway. Today the wetland is recognized as an important bird area and is listed within Poland's Natura 2000 network.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
