Dolina Osy Nature Reserve

Dolina Osy Nature Reserve is a landscape-level protected area in north-central Poland, established in 1994 to safeguard the most ecologically valuable stretch of the Osa River valley. It lies within the Chełmińskie Lakeland (Pojezierze Chełmińskie) mesoregion, spanning parts of the gminas Rogóźno, Gruta, and Łasin in Grudziądz County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The reserve covers roughly 668 hectares of river valley terrain shaped by the glacial and post-glacial processes that define the surrounding lake district. It protects a mosaic of habitats along the Osa River between the villages of Przesławice and Rogóźno-Zamek, providing refuge for a wide range of bird species and several rare or characteristic plant species of Polish lowland valleys. Beyond its ecological role, Dolina Osy is recognized as a representative example of the protected natural and cultural landscape of northern Polish lakelands. The reserve combines strict, active, and landscape forms of protection, reflecting the layered management approach used for habitat-rich river valleys in this part of the country.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
