Fundy National Park

Fundy National Park is a national park of Canada located on the Bay of Fundy near the village of Alma in New Brunswick. The park covers an area of 207 square kilometres along the northwestern branch of the Bay of Fundy known as Goose Bay. Established in 1948 and officially opened in 1950, Fundy protects a rugged coastline that rises sharply from the tidal shores up to the Canadian Highlands, encompassing over 25 waterfalls, diverse forest ecosystems, coastal cliffs, and sensitive bog habitats. The park is internationally renowned for its dramatic tidal phenomenon, which produces the highest tides in the world, with water levels fluctuating up to 15 metres between low and high tide. Visitors can walk on the exposed ocean floor at low tide, discovering marine life clinging to the rocks, while at high tide the entire shoreline disappears beneath meters of salt water. The park offers over 100 kilometres of hiking and biking trails, multiple campgrounds, and a heated saltwater swimming pool, making it one of New Brunswick's most visited protected areas.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
