Mieliwo Nature Reserve

Mieliwo Nature Reserve is a small protected forest area in the Brodnica county of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in northern Poland. It lies within the larger Brodnica Landscape Park and occupies a high slope above the glacial tunnel valley of Lake Mieliwo. The reserve was created in 1958 to preserve a fragment of mixed forest that includes European beech close to the northern edge of the species' natural range on the Dobrzyń Plateau. The site is classified as a forest nature reserve and is managed under active conservation. Although it covers only around eleven hectares, it plays an important scientific and educational role because of the presence of beech stands growing in conditions that mark the limit of their natural distribution. Its position within the broader Brodnica Landscape Park also ties it into the wider network of protected lake-country ecosystems of the Brodnica Lake District.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
