Björnlandet National Park

Björnlandet National Park is a protected area in Västerbotten County, northern Sweden, situated in the southernmost region of Lapland. Established in 1991, the park covers approximately 2,369 hectares of wilderness that was significantly expanded in 2017 through the incorporation of adjacent nature reserves. The park is renowned for its extensive old-growth forest, one of Sweden's most valuable primeval woodlands, where pine trees over 450 years old dominate the landscape. Geographically, the park features a distinctive terrain of steep ravines, precipices, and boulder fields that create a dramatic natural environment. The area lies about 30 kilometers southwest of the small locality of Fredrika in Åsele Municipality, representing one of Sweden's northernmost national parks and a significant representative of the boreal forest ecosystem in the country.
