Dębno nad Wartą Nature Reserve

Dębno nad Wartą Nature Reserve is a small faunistic protected area in the Wielkopolska region of central-western Poland. Established in 1974 under the authority of the Polish Minister of Forestry and the Wood Industry, the reserve was created to safeguard populations of rare invertebrate animals found in a distinctive section of floodplain forest along the Warta river valley. The reserve covers roughly 21.7 hectares of periodically flooded riparian woodland, known in Polish as a las łęgowy. Its tree composition reflects a classic Central European floodplain forest, dominated by oak, ash, alder, and elm, shaped by seasonal inundation from the nearby Warta. Although compact in size, the reserve carries considerable ecological value because it shelters specific snail species and other invertebrates that are unusual for the lowland Polish landscape. It sits within the broader landscape of the Żerkowsko-Czeszewski Park Krajobrazowy, giving it added landscape-level protection beyond its own boundaries.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
