Plumper Cove Marine Provincial Park

Plumper Cove Marine Provincial Park is a small marine-oriented protected area on the northwest shore of Keats Island in Howe Sound, on the southwest coast of British Columbia. Northwest of Vancouver and reached primarily by boat or by a hike from a ferry landing, it functions as a sheltered anchorage along one of the busiest recreational waterways of the Salish Sea region. The park is notable for being among the oldest marine parks on the British Columbia coast. Set among forested shorelines, low bluffs, and small coves, it combines upland forest with a rocky, protected waterfront. Its quiet character, boat-dependent access, and limited vehicle presence set it apart from most mainland provincial campgrounds. The protected surroundings include a network of forest trails, walk-in campsites, a grassy upland picnic area, and a sheltered cove used by recreational boaters. Plumper Cove is therefore valued less for dramatic vistas than for its calm marine setting, sense of remote coastal atmosphere, and accessibility from the greater Vancouver and Sunshine Coast region.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
