Réserve naturelle régionale de la Poitevine-Regarde-Venir

The Réserve naturelle régionale de la Poitevine-Regarde-Venir is a small regional nature reserve in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of southern France. It lies in the historic Crau plain, west of Salon-de-Provence and close to Arles, just a few hundred metres from the larger national nature reserve of the Coussouls de Crau. The reserve covers about 221 hectares of a landscape shaped by the typical Crau dichotomy between dry and wet steppe. Around two thirds of the area is made up of coussoul, the unusual pebbly dry steppe that gives the Crau its unique ecological character, while the remaining portion is hay meadow. The reserve is particularly important for wintering populations of the little bustard, one of Europe's most threatened steppe birds, and supports other characteristic Crau wildlife such as the stone-curlew. Because of this ecological profile, the Poitevine-Regarde-Venir is the regional complement to the neighbouring national reserve of the Coussouls de Crau, and together the two sites anchor a broader conservation strategy for the Crau's steppe heritage.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
