The Réserve naturelle régionale des marais, dunes et baies de Guissény is a newly classified regional nature reserve on the northern coast of Finistère in Brittany, France. Established in October 2025, it covers roughly 608 hectares across the communes of Guissény, Kerlouan, and Plouguerneau, placing it firmly within the scenic stretch known as the Côte des Légendes. The reserve brings together a rich mosaic of coastal habitats. On land it protects a connected system of marshes around the étang du Curnic, the dunes of La Sécherie, and the back-dune area of Vougo. Its marine portion extends across the Anse de Tresseny and a coastal strip along the Plage du Vougo, blending brackish lagoons, reedbeds, sandy beaches, and open sea into a single protected continuum. This combination of terrestrial and marine environments gives the reserve a strong ecological identity. It supports an important bird community, including 83 breeding species and 121 wintering species recorded through ornithological surveys, and it preserves a transitional landscape shaped by centuries of interaction between Breton farmland, coastal wetlands, and the Atlantic shore.
