Brogo Reserve

Brogo Reserve is a 120-hectare nature reserve in the far south-east of New South Wales, Australia, owned and managed since 1995 by the conservation organisation Bush Heritage Australia. It sits at the north-eastern end of the Bega Valley, near the rural locality of Brogo, between the regional centre of Bega and the broader NSW South Coast landscape. The reserve protects a network of forested granite ridges separated by fern-filled gullies, with the Brogo River forming an important riparian edge. The property encompasses several distinct vegetation communities, from dry grass forest and dry rainforest on the slopes to wet shrub forest in the sheltered gullies, and oak-dominated riparian forest along the river corridor. Together these habitats support a mosaic of temperate southern Australian wildlife, around 70 native bird species have been recorded on the reserve, alongside mammals such as the common wombat and sugar glider, making the reserve a compact but ecologically diverse refuge within an otherwise largely cleared rural landscape.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
