Dęby Sądowskie Nature Reserve

Dęby Sądowskie is a small forest nature reserve in northwestern Poland, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship within the Choszczeńskie Lake District mesoregion. Despite covering only about three hectares, the reserve protects one of the most ecologically valuable patches of mature deciduous forest in the area, characterized as a subatlantic oak-hornbeam grove (Stellario holosteae-Carpinetum betuli). The reserve is particularly significant for its old-growth stand of pedunculate oaks (Quercus robur), with dozens of trees exceeding 300 centimeters in trunk circumference and individual specimens estimated to be up to several centuries old. The mixture of oak with beech, elm, hornbeam, and small-leaved lime gives the reserve a layered, structurally diverse character that is rare in the intensively managed agricultural and forestry landscape of the region. Established in 1985, Dęby Sądowskie reflects Poland's long tradition of creating small, targeted nature reserves to protect irreplaceable fragments of native forest communities and associated rare species. Today it serves as both a conservation stronghold and a quiet reference point for the ecological heritage of the broader West Pomeranian region.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
