Kojonup Reserve

Kojonup Reserve is a 389-hectare nature reserve in the south-west of Western Australia, located about 30 kilometres north-east of the town of Kojonup in the Shire of Kojonup. The reserve sits within the locality of Cherry Tree Pool and borders the Birdwood Nature Reserve to the south-west, forming part of a broader mosaic of protected bushland in the surrounding landscape. The reserve is owned and managed by Bush Heritage Australia, a private conservation organisation that purchased the property in 1996. Its principal conservation significance lies in protecting one of the few remaining stands of wandoo woodland in the region, an ecological community that has been heavily reduced elsewhere through agricultural clearing. In addition to its woodland values, Kojonup Reserve supports populations of kangaroos, wallabies, possums and a diverse suite of woodland birds, making it an important refuge for native fauna in an otherwise heavily cleared agricultural landscape.
