Na Vápenici

Na Vápenici is a small protected natural monument in the Czech Republic, located within the Český ráj Protected Landscape Area between the town of Železný Brod and the village of Koberovy. The site centers on a modest limestone outcrop that rises among the surrounding terrain of the Liberec Region, creating a distinctive calcareous microhabitat in an area otherwise dominated by more acidic substrates. The reserve was established to safeguard regionally important stands of calcareous and herb-rich beech forest growing on this limestone bedrock, along with a single known population of a critically endangered fern species. The outcrop is also noted for its stratigraphically important paleontological content, giving the site value that extends beyond its living flora. Although very small in extent, Na Vápenici represents a focused example of how localized geology can shape forest composition and create refuges for unusual plant life within a broader protected landscape.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
