Račí údolí

Račí údolí is a small nature reserve in the Olomouc Region of northern Moravia, the Czech Republic, located just under three kilometers south-southwest of the town of Javorník in the Jeseník District. It occupies the foothills of the Hrubý Jeseník range, within the wider Krkonoše-Jeseník mountain system, and protects a forested valley through which the Račí potok stream flows toward the Polish border and ultimately into the Oder basin. The reserve covers a little over 62 hectares of mostly closed-canopy deciduous and mixed forest at elevations between roughly 348 and 532 meters above sea level. Its vegetation is dominated by old-growth patches of oak-lime-beech woodland, with more recent stands showing high spruce representation. The valley is also notable for its cultural layers, including the ruins of a medieval castle known as Pustý zámek, the early 20th-century Art Nouveau pavilion Tančírna, and the natural lookout point Čertova kazatelna.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
