Compare protected geography around a rock-bed mountain stream

Compare protected landscapes around Vodopády Satiny across the Beskydy stream valleys

Vodopády Satiny traces a long exposed channel below Lysá hora, where alternating flysch sandstone and shale guide the Satina through rock steps, low waterfalls, shallow basins, a gorge, and mountain forest. Compare nearby protected records by separation and direction while preserving designation, country context, mapped position, and landform identity.

Vodopády Satiny

Vodopády Satiny is a small protected natural monument in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy mountains of the eastern Czech Republic. It protects a section of the Satina stream on the slopes below Lysá hora, the highest peak in the range, where the water has carved one of the longest exposed rock channels on the Czech side of the Carpathians. The waterfall complex is set within the flysch belt that defines the western Carpathians, an area where alternating layers of sandstone and softer shale have produced distinctive stepped stream courses. The protected area also includes the adjacent forest stands that line the gorge, giving the locality a continuous sense of mountain woodland around a geological curiosity. Although small, the site has real regional significance. It illustrates how the flysch geology of the Beskydy creates unusual fluvial landforms in an otherwise densely forested mountain landscape, and it offers accessible scenery close to well-used hiking routes in the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
