Chebera Churchura National Park is a protected wilderness area located in the South West Ethiopia Peoples' Region, situated on the western side of the central Omo Gibe basin between the Dawro and Konta zones. The park spans approximately 1250 square kilometers of diverse terrain, with elevations ranging from 500 to 2000 meters above sea level. Established as a national park in 2006 after previously serving as the Kulo-Konta controlled hunting area, this protected area supports remarkable biodiversity across its grasslands, woodlands, mountain forests, and riverine ecosystems. The park lies approximately 133 kilometers south of Jimma and 483 kilometers southwest of Addis Ababa, making it one of the more remote yet significant conservation areas in southwestern Ethiopia.
