Jezioro Pławno Nature Reserve

Jezioro Pławno Nature Reserve is a small landscape-level nature reserve in west-central Poland, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship within the Murowana Goślina commune and Poznań County. It lies inside the larger Puszcza Zielonka Landscape Park and forms part of the Natura 2000 site known as Uroczyska Puszczy Zielonki, integrating the reserve into a broader network of forest, wetland, and lake protection in the region. The reserve centres on two small lakes, Pławno and Kociołek, surrounded by bogs and forest. Although the protected area covers only about 16.71 hectares, it serves a disproportionately important role for the conservation of rare aquatic and peatland vegetation, including populations of large spearwort, saw sedge, and slender-leaved pondweed. The reserve was established in 1978 specifically to safeguard these plant communities. Although modest in scale, Jezioro Pławno punches well above its weight ecologically. It anchors a network of valuable habitats within the glacial landscape of the Gniezno Lake District, offering insight into the transition zone between open water, marsh, and forest that defines the wider Puszcza Zielonka region.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
