Modrzew Polski w Noskowie Nature Reserve

Modrzew Polski w Noskowie is a small floristic nature reserve located in the Gmina Czerniejewo area of Greater Poland (Wielkopolskie), near the boundary of the Gniezno county. Set within the flat agricultural landscape of the Równina Wrzesińska (Września Plain) mezoregion, the reserve was created specifically to safeguard a stand of pine forest enriched with the rare Polish larch (Larix polonica), a relict tree of significant botanical and biogeographical importance in central Europe. Although only about one hectare in size according to its original establishing act, the reserve today covers roughly 1,044 hectares, indicating that subsequent regulatory frameworks expanded the area under protection beyond the initial declaration. The reservation of the Polish larch population here makes the site one of the few formally designated protected areas in Poland dedicated primarily to the conservation of this endemic-conifer subspecies. The reserve represents a typical example of a mid twentieth-century Polish floristic sanctuary, established during the early post-war wave of legal protection ordinations that aimed to preserve individual rare tree species and their associated forest communities. Its identity is tightly bound to the survival of the Polish larch, a tree that elsewhere in the Polish lowlands is exceedingly rare.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
