Réserve naturelle régionale des prairies humides de Courteranges

The Réserve naturelle régionale des prairies humides de Courteranges is a small regional nature reserve in north-central France, in the Aube department of the Grand Est region. Classed in 2010, it covers roughly 28 hectares of wet meadows along the valley of the Barse, split into two areas on either side of the restitution canal of the Lac d'Orient reservoir. The reserve exists to safeguard a mosaic of humid grassland habitats that have long shaped the agricultural character of the Barse valley. Beyond the traditional hay meadows, the site includes molinia-dominated grasslands, tall sedge beds and wet willow scrub, together creating a refuge for wetland flora and fauna that has become increasingly rare in intensively farmed landscapes. Although it is one of the smaller protected areas in the regional network, the reserve carries notable ecological weight because of its plant diversity, its connection to a Ramsar wetlands context, and its role within the Lac d'Orient regional natural park system.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
