Bunuba National Park

Located about 80 kilometres north-east of Fitzroy Crossing, the park occupies land of deep cultural significance to the Bunuba people and represents a modern model of co-management between Traditional Owners and the state government. The creation of Bunuba National Park, alongside Warlibirri National Park established in 2022, forms part of a broader initiative to protect the Fitzroy and Margaret river systems that flow through the heart of the Kimberley. The park lies within both the Central Kimberley and Dampierland bioregions, encompassing the distinctive sandstone gorges, riparian corridors, and ancient landscapes that define this remote corner of northern Australia.
