Hat Wanakon National Park

Hat Wanakon National Park is a coastal and marine protected area located in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province of western Thailand, approximately 300 kilometers south of Bangkok along the Gulf of Thailand. Established on December 30, 1992 as Thailand's 76th national park and 18th marine national park, the park encompasses an area of 38 square kilometers spanning both the Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan and Thap Sakae districts. The park features a dramatic combination of a sandy beach environment and offshore islands housing one of the most biodiverse coral reef systems in the Gulf of Thailand. The landscape transitions from a coastal plain to slightly elevated terrain, with the twin islands of Ko Chan and Ko Tai-si situated approximately seven kilometers offshore. The beach area, accessible via Petchkasem Road about 23 kilometers from the provincial capital, offers visitors a relatively untouched natural setting compared to more developed coastal destinations in Thailand.
