Map protected geography around a dark-water lake and peat-forming forest basin

Position Jezioro Obradowskie Nature Reserve within Lubelskie's peatland protected network

Jezioro Obradowskie occupies a shallow forest depression where peat-stained water fills a small dystrophic lake enclosed by Sphagnum bog, concentric mire vegetation, and the Lasy Parczewskie canopy. Explore nearby eastern Polish protected places on the map while keeping their hydrology, Natura recognition, peat condition, and designations independent.

Jezioro Obradowskie Nature Reserve

Jezioro Obradowskie Nature Reserve is a peatland nature reserve located in eastern Poland, in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Parczew commune of Parczew County. It lies inside the larger Lasy Parczewskie forest complex and is managed by the Parczew Forest District, making it part of one of the more ecologically important woodland areas of the region. The reserve was established in 1975 to protect a small dystrophic lake together with its surrounding natural bog and forest communities. Its significance lies in the combination of habitat types present in a compact area: an acid, dark-water lake encircled by peat-forming vegetation and mixed forest stands. Many of the plant species recorded here are legally protected in Poland, giving the reserve a recognizable reputation among botanists and conservation planners. Beyond its national protection status, the reserve also sits within the West Polesie International Biosphere Reserve and overlaps with two Natura 2000 sites, a Special Area of Conservation and a Special Protection Area for birds. This layered protection framework reflects the area's broader ecological value well beyond its modest size.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
