Mszana i Obłoga Nature Reserve

Mszana i Obłoga is a small forest nature reserve in the eastern part of the Pogórze Kaczawskie, a hilly foreland region in southwestern Poland. The reserve sits within Jawor Forest District and lies inside the broader Chełmy Landscape Park, in Lower Silesia between the gminas of Paszowice and Męcinka. The protected area covers roughly 100 hectares across the summit parts of the Mszana and Obłoga hills. Its purpose is to preserve valuable forest patches together with the unique and species-rich flora that grows on them, as well as the striking basalt rock outcrops and basalt rubble found along the upper slopes and summits of these volcanic hills. Together, the natural forest communities and the exposed basalt geology give the reserve a distinctive character that combines woodland conservation with protected geological heritage. It is a quiet, hill-top woodland reserve in a region better known for its volcanic past and patchy relict forests.
