Réserve naturelle nationale de la baie de Saint-Brieuc

The Réserve naturelle nationale de la baie de Saint-Brieuc is a French national nature reserve located in the southern part of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, on the Brittany coast in the department of Côtes-d'Armor. Established in 1998, it covers around 1,140 hectares of intertidal mudflats, salt marshes, dunes, and a small stretch of coastal cliffs, and ranks among the most important coastal sites in northern Brittany for waders and wildfowl. The reserve protects a strongly tidal environment in which vast expanses of sandy and muddy foreshore are exposed twice a day, creating rich feeding grounds for invertebrates, flatfish, and millions of migratory and wintering birds. Inland from the mudflats, the Yffiniac marshes form the largest area of salt marsh (prés salés) on the North-Armorican coast after the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Its position along one of Europe's major flyways, together with its combination of estuarine habitats, dunes, cliffs, and brackish marsh, gives the reserve a particular ecological importance for shorebirds, waterfowl, and the broader marine food web of the English Channel.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
