Ostoja nad Bobrem

Ostoja nad Bobrem is a Natura 2000 Site of Community Importance (Special Area of Conservation) located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of southwestern Poland. It stretches along the Bóbr River valley between Lwówek Śląski and Jelenia Góra, covering roughly fifteen thousand hectares of river corridor, hills, and adjoining slopes built from a varied mix of basalts, limestones, and sandstones. The site was originally proposed for the EU Natura 2000 network by the European Commission in 2009 and formally confirmed under Polish national protection in 2022. It is fundamentally a habitat-oriented protected area, designated to preserve natural habitats and species of European importance, including rare orchid-rich grasslands, slope forests, riparian woodlands, and bat colonies. Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
