Jodłowice Nature Reserve

Jodłowice Nature Reserve is a small forest reserve located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of southwestern Poland, spanning parts of the communes of Oborniki Śląskie in Trzebnica County and Brzeg Dolny in Wołów County. Established in 1958, the reserve covers roughly 9.36 hectares of protected woodland near the village of Jodłowice, in the Pradolina Wrocławska mesoregion. Despite its modest size, the reserve is notable for protecting what is described as the northernmost natural stand of European silver fir in this part of Poland. Beyond the fir woodland itself, the reserve is also known for a large glacial erratic boulder registered as a natural monument and for hosting a nesting site of the black stork, a shy and increasingly rare forest bird in Central Europe. The area is managed under active conservation measures aimed at preserving its forest character and associated features. Near the reserve stands an old stone cross, sometimes loosely described in local literature as a medieval penitential cross, although no firm evidence supports that specific identification. The cultural element adds a layer of local heritage to what is otherwise a primarily ecological protected area, making Jodłowice a quiet but distinctive stop in the network of small Polish forest reserves. ##

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
