Xinjiang Tomur Peak National Nature Reserve

The Xinjiang Tomur Peak National Nature Reserve is a vast protected area in the western Tian Shan mountains of far western China, centered on the high alpine zone around Tomur Peak, the highest summit of the Tian Shan range, and the adjacent Hantengri Peak massif. The reserve is part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site "Xinjiang Tianshan" inscribed in 2013, and serves as a critical refuge for high mountain wildlife such as the snow leopard, Siberian ibex, and brown bear, alongside distinctive relict Schrenk's spruce forests on the south-facing slopes of the Tian Shan.
