Jezioro Świerszczów Nature Reserve

Jezioro Świerszczów is a floristic nature reserve located in the village of Świerszczów within Gmina Cyców, in the Łęczna County of Lubelskie Voivodeship in eastern Poland. The reserve centers on a small eutrophic lake and the surrounding peatland complex, with an overall area of just over forty-six hectares. The reserve's core purpose is the scientific and educational protection of an eutrophic lake system and its relict plant communities, anchored above all by rare willow species such as the Lapland willow and the bog willow. These species are linked to the peatland that borders the lake, reinforcing the reserve's role as a refuge for cold-stage relict flora that now survives far south of its main range. Beyond the open water and peatland, the reserve includes transitional woodland on its outer edges, with alder carrs to the north and oak-hornbeam forests to the south, creating a compact mosaic of aquatic, mire, and forest habitats typical of the Równina Łęczyńsko-Włodawska mesoregion.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
