Mszar Bogdaniec Nature Reserve

Mszar Bogdaniec Nature Reserve is a small peatland protected area located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, in the Krotoszyn County, within the rural-urban gmina of Zduny, between the villages of Baszków and Konarzew. The reserve sits inside the Dąbrowy Krotoszyńskie Protected Landscape Area, on the Wysoczyzna Kaliska mesoregion, and protects a transitional peat bog with elements of raised bog habitat. The reserve was established in 1995 by order of the Minister of Environmental Protection, Natural Resources, and Forestry, and covers approximately 22 hectares. It is managed under active conservation status, meaning that human interventions are used to maintain its specific peatland character. The bog fills an elongated depression at the foot of a belt of inland dunes, giving the reserve a compact but ecologically rich setting. Mszar Bogdaniec is notable for its rare flora and fauna typical of well-preserved Polish peatlands. The protected habitats support a variety of bog plants, including several Sphagnum mosses and the insectivorous round-leaved sundew, as well as a diverse bird community. Although small, the reserve represents an important surviving fragment of wetland habitat within agricultural Wielkopolska.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
