The Réserve naturelle régionale des étangs de Belval-en-Argonne is a small regional nature reserve located in the Argonne region of northeastern France, within the Marne department and the Grand Est region. It protects a network of five interconnected ponds that together form one of the largest and oldest pond complexes of the Marne department. The reserve covers freshwater wetlands surrounded by reedbeds, wet woodlands, wet meadows, and fallow land, creating a mosaic of aquatic and semi-aquatic habitats. Its ponds have been known since at least the thirteenth century, and the current configuration of five basins dates from dike construction in the eighteenth century. Established officially on 9 July 2012, the reserve is now jointly managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Champagne-Ardenne and the Ligue pour la protection des oiseaux. It is recognized as an important site for waterbird conservation within the broader Champagne humide wetland landscape.
