Established on May 25, 2007, the park covers roughly 1,024 square kilometres across the Wiang Sa, Na Noi, and Na Muen districts. The terrain is characterised by complex ridgelines and elevations reaching 1,234 metres at Khao Khun Huai Huek, the park's highest peak. The park serves as an important watershed for the Nan River system, providing water resources for local communities while protecting diverse forest ecosystems and wildlife habitats.
