Spanning elevations from 1,800 meters to the 3,942-meter summit of Pico El Púlpito, this national park preserves an expansive mosaic of paramo and montane forest. The terrain features over 130 periglacial lakes, including Laguna Blanca and Laguna Grande, which sustain regional river systems and support unique species like the Andean bear and mountain tapir.
