Hoàng Liên National Park

Hoàng Liên National Park is a mountainous protected area in Northern Vietnam, spanning portions of Lào Cai Province and Lai Châu Province along the border with China. The park encompasses the Hoàng Liên Son mountain range and includes Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam and across the entire Indochinese Peninsula at 3,147 meters. Established as a national park in 2006 through conversion of an earlier nature reserve, the protected area covers approximately 68,500 hectares of terrain that rises from around 1,000 meters to over 3,000 meters above sea level. The park is recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park and serves as a Centre of Plant Diversity under the IUCN Plant Conservation Program, reflecting its outstanding significance for botanical conservation in Southeast Asia.
