Saklıkent National Park

Saklıkent National Park is a striking naturalprotected area in southwestern Turkey, centered on a dramatic limestone canyon formed by the Karaçay stream, a tributary of the Eşen River. The park straddles the border between Muğla and Antalya provinces in the Taurus Mountains, with the canyon entrance located near the Seydikemer district. Established on June 6, 1996, the park covers approximately 1,643 hectares and protects one of the deepest and longest canyons in Turkey and indeed the world, with depths reaching 300 meters and a total length of 18 kilometers. The name Saklıkent translates from Turkish as "hidden city," evoking the mysterious atmosphere of this narrow gorge with its towering limestone walls, cold karstic springs, and cascading waterfalls. The canyon represents a remarkable geological formation carved over millennia by flowing waters that continue to shape the landscape today.
