Sidi Toui National Park

Sidi Toui National Park is a protected area in southern Tunisia established in 1993. Located near the Libyan border approximately 54 kilometers north of the town of Ben Gardane, the park occupies a distinctive position in Tunisia's protected area network as one of the country's rare grassland ecosystems. Unlike the desert landscapes and mountainous terrain that dominate much of Tunisia's interior, Sidi Toui protects a semi-arid grassland environment that supports specialized wildlife adapted to arid conditions. The park is perhaps best known today as a sanctuary for the scimitar oryx, an endangered antelope species that has been successfully introduced and maintained within the reserve. This reintroduction effort represents one of the park's most significant conservation achievements and has helped establish Sidi Toui as an important site for Saharan biodiversity preservation.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
